So you’re sitting out on the porch enjoying the weather with a beer in hand and decide you’d like to get some much needed graphic work out of the way. Much to your dismay you attempt to fire up Photoshop but find that it freezes before it can display the splash screen, $#!*&.
The fix is actually pretty easy, if you have a networked or shared printer set as your default and it becomes unreachable Photoshop will stall at startup while trying to check the device. If you wait long enough the program will eventually start, but who wants to sit around for 10 minutes waiting for the program to load?
Go into your printer control panel and change the default printer from the offending network unit to something different (right-click another printer and select the “set as default” item) and you should be set. If that doesn’t do the trick you may need to remove printer to remedy the issue.

Aw, this was a really quality post. In theory I’d like to write like this too – taking time and real effort to make a good article… but what can I say… I procrastinate alot and never seem to get something done.

When I originally commented I clicked the “Notify me when new comments are added” checkbox and now each time a comment is added I get three emails with the same comment. Is there any way you can remove me from that service? Thanks!
